Wunderkammer
Wunderkammer was an immersive environment introducing the Elsewhere Anointments for Adventure scents that teased the line between installation art and retail display. Following on the Threshold installation, Wunderkammer was a further iteration exploring where retail display and experience installation meet, converge, or don't get along at all.
Hand-cut paper trees created an entrance to a small glade, in which sat a reclaimed chest of drawers. Referencing the cabinets of wonder, each drawer was dedicated to a different scent, a different story. Each had its own theme and color. Hidden speakers provided sound effects for each drawer, and each scent corresponded to a poem in the tome resting on top. Wunderkammer played with the lines of fantasy and reality, not trying to perfectly mimic another world, but instead inviting the viewer to use it as a portal, a tool for imagination and dreams.
